Kids' Fish, Swim, and Play Day at San Luis Reservoir

Los Banos/Gilroy: May is California Water Awareness Month.
To mark the occasion, fun and water safety will be the "catch of the day" at the 25th Annual
"Kids' Fish, Swim, and Play Day" at San Luis Reservoir State Recreation Area. Join the California Departments of Water Resources and Parks and Recreation on May 17th at San Luis Creek Recreation Area on O'Neill Forebay. Bring the family and your fishing poles, and enjoy a day of angling, swimming, crafts, fun, and safety tips "at the lake."
Children ages 3 to 15 may begin sign-up at 10:00 a.m. Free bait is provided. There will be a fun 'fishing simulator' to try as well. Free pontoon rides will be provided (weather permitting-ages 6 and above). Bring a picnic lunch, and free strawberries and whip cream dessert will follow. Also on hand will be people from California Fish and Wildlife, Water Resources, and State Parks with crafts and information on local recreation areas.
To reach San Luis Creek Recreation Area, take HWY 152 to San Luis Reservoir SRA, turn north into the park and follow the signs.

Entrance fees of $10 per vehicle will apply. This special recreation program is sponsored by California's Department of Water Resources, State Parks, and donations.
