PACHECO STATE PARK CELEBRATES THE 11TH WILDFLOWER DAY

Los Banos & Gilroy: The public is invited to Pacheco State Park on Saturday, March 22nd for the 11th Annual Wildflower Day, from 9:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. This event promises to be a fun, family-friendly experience in the great outdoors.
Representatives from California State Parks, the California Native Plant Society, the Department of Fish & Wildlife, the Central Valley Bird Club, and many others, will be on hand to answer questions. There will be free Wildflower Day crafts for the kids as well, plus free hiking maps and wildflower pamphlets.
A Birding Walk starts at 9:30 a.m. and a Wildflower Hike will depart at 10:00 a.m. Tours are limited to twenty people. Sign-ups for these hikes are first-come, first-served on the day of the event.
Regular $10 day use parking fee apply. Facilities at Pacheco State Park are limited: please bring your own water, as no drinking water is available. Weather conditions at Pacheco State Park can change rapidly. Visitors are encouraged to have layered clothing, long pants, hats, sunscreen, sturdy footwear and jackets on hand. Visitors may also want bring food, binoculars, folding chairs, and cameras.
Pacheco State Park is at the top of historic Pacheco Pass: Turn south onto Dinosaur Point Road off Highway 152, twenty-five miles west of Los Banos and twenty-three miles east of Gilroy, and follow the signs.
