Fun for the whole family...don't miss two great shopping events in one at Sutter's Fort State Historic Park (SHP) and the State Indian Museum on April 20 & 21. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn from and support artisan crafters while browsing through the "Traders' Faire - California's First Mall" at Sutter's Fort SHP and checking out the unique gifts and collectibles at the State Indian Museum's spring time "Arts & Crafts Market." At Sutter's Fort SHP, visitors will experience the hustle and bustle of pioneer trading days by watching artisans create goods, making their own crafts, haggling with traders, hammering square nails, and enjoying musket and cannon demonstrations. And, next door at the State Indian Museum, guests can peruse beautiful custom beaded jewelry, artwork, baskets, gourds, soapstone and elk horn carvings, drums and much, much more. Don't miss this special shopping extravaganza for your chance to shop at and explore two of Sacramento's treasured historic parks.
