Snowshoe Through History Hikes
Park: Ed Z'berg Sugar Pine Point SP
Our California State Park Interpreter will be leading 3 Snowshoe Through History hikes along Lake Tahoe's magical West Shore at Ed Z'Berg Sugar Pine Point State Park. Hikes are scheduled for Saturday, February 23; Saturday, March 9; and Saturday, March 30. These easy and fun tours explore the lakefront and the Hellman-Ehrman Mansion estate. Learn about the natural environment that attracted Tahoe’s earliest settlers and explore the fascinating history of a Tahoe landmark.
The Snowshoe Through History hikes start at 11am and begin near the restrooms in the Day Use side of the park (lake side entrance off Highway 89). The programs last approximately 1.5 hours. There is a parking fee of $10 per vehicle, and no charge for the program. Wear warm clothing and waterproof winter shoes; bring water and snowshoes. Snowshoes can be rented at a local sporting goods shop such as West Shore Sports in Homewood. Weather conditions may cancel.
More information and an expanded schedule of the winter activities offered by California State Parks can be found at www.parks.ca.gov under Ed Z'Berg Sugar Pine Point State Park.
