Chinese Moon Festival

Time: 11:00am

History will come alive when a traditional Mid-Autumn Chinese Moon Festival will be presented at the Weaverville Joss House State Historic Park. Co-Sponsored by California State Parks and the Weaverville Joss House Association, this free special event will be held at 11am Saturday, September 29.

The Moon festival is an immensely popular celebration of togetherness dating back over 3000 years to China's Zhou Dynasty. It is a time when families gather together to watch the harvest moon rise. Activities will include a story telling period about the Moon Festival along with the opportunity for children to decorate Chinese lanterns. Refreshments will be provided by the Weaverville Joss House Association.
