Join us for a talk by geologist Dr. Monte Marshall. We will continue our discussion of the birth and role of the San Andreas Fault in California Geology. We will look specifically at the portion between the Sea of Cortez and the Transverse ranges. He will also talk about how modern astronomy and space science has changed our understanding of the formation of the solar system. Meet at the UCI Steele/Burnand Anza-Borrego Desert Research Center on Tilting T Drive. On Saturday, Monte will lead a field trip to the Painted Canyon in the Mecca Hills. Open to the public at no charge.
