Come join us in celebrating the holidays in the early 1900's style. On Friday, November 24th and Saturday, November 25th from 11:00am to 4:00pm, there will be festivities galore. There will be live music, period costumes, old-fashioned decorations and holiday cheer.
Docents playing key characters such as the Bourns, the Starrs and the housekeeper Katie Moriarty will be welcoming guests from all over into the Bourn cottage and telling tales of Empire Mine's glory days. You may even receive a complimentary cookie from housekeeper Katie Moriarty as you pass through.
Victorian Santa and Mrs. Claus will be present in the decoarated clubhouse, listening to the children's wishes.
Local vendors will be outside the Clubhouse offering food and beverages.
In the Mine Yard, there will be chestnuts roasting over an open fire, Blacksmiths hard at work and docents playing miners talking about their experience in the mines.
In the Visitor's Center, be sure to visit the gift shop and pick out a few holiday gifts! There are a wide variey of minerals, mugs, jewelry and also some of the completed blacksmith projects forged right here at Empire Mine by experienced Docents.
