Time: 1:00 -5:00
Join us for this special day as we commemorate the anniversary of the signing on this date in 1864 of the proclamation by California Governor Frederick Low accepting the Mariposa Grove and Yosemite Valley Grant from the federal government via a bill signed by President Lincoln on June 30th of that year.
This exciting day will include appearances by Governor Low, Galen Clark (first state park ranger) as well as other volunteers in period attire. There will be live music, a birthday cake and more. This is the final chance to see the commemorative quilt exhibit from the Quilters Sew-ciety of Redding in the ballroom of the mansion as this is the last day of that exhibit.
We will also be dedicating a time capsule to be sealed up and opened 50 years from now in 2064 as part of the 200th anniversary commemoration of California State Parks.
