Wednesdays from 6:30 to 9pm; Saturdays are Half-day Sessions
Natural Bridges State Park is looking for new volunteers to host the monarch butterfly preserve, greet visitors and help lead monarch butterfly tours. If you enjoy nature and would like to become a part of a community of butterfly-loving volunteers who share the magic and mystery of the monarchs with park visitors, you can call now to sign up at (831)423-4609 extension 8. This year’s class which we lovingly refer to as “Monarch University,” officially starts Wednesday, September 24 at 6:30pm. There will be a pre-training orientation and burrito lunch following Coastal Cleanup Day activities on Saturday, September 20, with a beach cleanup from 9 to noon and then lunch and volunteer orientation from 12:30 to 2pm. Docent training is filled with interesting classes, informative hikes and fun activities to use when greeting visitors to the Butterfly Preserve. Call the docent coordinator, Martha Nitzberg, for more information or to sign up.
