State Park


Daytime roadwork continues on Highway 1 on the Rocky Creek Viaduct project approximately 10 miles north of the park.  Expect up to 10 minute delays 7am-5pm. The overnight closures on Highway 1 continue Sunday-Thursday from 9pm-7am on a week by week basis. Check the Caltrans press release page for the most recent updates (http://www.dot.ca.gov/dist05/projects/rocky_crk/index.htm). During these closures visitors will not be able to arrive from or depart to the north. There will be no overnight closures on Friday or Saturday nights. Construction on this project is expected to continue through Labor Day 2013.

Limekiln SP

The park features breathtaking views of the Big Sur Coast, the beauty of the redwoods, the rugged coast and the cultural history of limekilns. The park has 24 campsites.

Location-Directions
The park is 56 miles south of Carmel, off Highway One; two miles south of Lucia.

Seasons/Climate/Recommended Clothing
The weather can be changeable. Layered clothing is advised.

California State Parks contracts with Parks Management Company to operate the park.
