Oceano Dunes SVRA

The Oceano Dunes SVRA provides an impressive playground for off-highway enthusiasts from throughout the United States. One of several OHV areas administered by the California Department of Parks and Recreation, Oceano Dunes also offers visitors other recreational activities such as swimming, surfing, fishing, camping, wildlife viewing and hiking. The staff at Oceano Dunes wishes you an enjoyable and safe stay.


Oceano Dunes SVRA is located in Oceano, three miles south of Pismo Beach off Highway 1.  Entrances to the beach are located at the West end of Grand Avenue and West end of Pier Avenue.

Off-Highway Vehicle Area 

One mile south of the Pier Avenue beach ramp is Post 2, a post on the beach which marks the beginning of the off-highway vehicle riding and camping area. OHV's must be transported to this point before unloading. 


Camping is allowed south of Post 2 on the beach and in the open dune area. All camping reservations must be made online at ReserveCalifornia.com or by calling Reserve California at 1-800-444-7275, between the hours of 8:00am - 6:00pm Pacific Time (PT). Reservations are required during peak season and holiday weekends. Reservations may be made up to six months in advance, but they must be made at least 48 hours prior to arrival. 


Beach wheelchairs are available for loan at the Pier and Grand Avenue entrances to the beach.
