Seasonal housing may be available at some units.

Reporting locations: Big Basin Redwoods State Park, Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, Butano State Park, New Brighton State Beach, and Sunset State Beach.

Seasonal Visitor Service Aide

Title: Friends of State Parks Visitor Service Aide
Duration: Seasonal
$11.74 per hour

Experience: Customer Service and cash handling experience preferred.

Duties Include:
We arelooking for individuals who would enjoy working with State Parks Staff in the operations of the campground and day use areas at one of our beautiful State Parks. Service Aide duties include: fee collection, registrations of campers and day users, providing park information and explaining rules and regulations to visitors in person and via phone, use of a computer for daily financial accounting, using a two-way radio, and reporting emergencies to Park Rangers or Staff. If you have considered a career in California State Parks, this is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to a variety of park operation knowledge and skills.

Additional Requirements:
Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license, wear the approved uniform and adhere to park grooming standards. Knowledge of California's natural and cultural history is desirable. Math skills, including multiplication using decimals, are necessary.
