Environmental Studies Program

Thank you for your interest in the Environmental Studies Program (ESP) at Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park. This program allows students to spend 8 hours (8am-4pm) at Sutter’s Fort. While here, they will learn about California and the Sacramento Valley in the 1840s through hands-on activities rooted in the Fort’s history.

This program is available to public, private and home school groups. Unlike the Environmental Living Program (ELP), it is also available to middle school and high school students, in addition to those in elementary school. The Environmental Studies Program is limited to a maximum of 80 student participants.

For more information on the application process, cost, and available dates, or for any other questions, please contact the ESP Coordinator at Jared.Jones@parks.ca.gov or (916) 323-8112. Thank you!
