2012 Junior Lifeguard Program Information
Who: Boys and Girls - 9-15 years old
Where: Dunes State Beach; Half Moon Bay, California
Why: The Junior Lifeguard program is a unique and challenging aquatic program to educate community youth about safe ocean recreation. Our goal is to maintain a safe and enjoyable beach environment by educating future generations about coastal currents, swells, aquatic life and self-rescue. Prevention is the best form of lifeguarding.
Develop Ocean Safety! Learn about the local environment! Have fun!
When: Every summer! Two session from June through August. Four weeks, Monday through Friday - 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Returning Junior Guards may apply online.
**If you did not participate in last year's Half Moon Bay Junior Lifeguard program, you are REQUIRED to attend a Tryout before registration**
Program Locations and Dates:
Session I - June 17 to July 12, 2013
Session II - July 22 to August 16, 2013
Half Moon Bay Junior Lifeguards is held at Dunes State Beach unless otherwise stated. Drop off should be before 10 am to allow time to get down to the beach and ready for stretches at 10 am SHARP. 
Program Fees*:
Costs for all programs $400.00.
*Fees subject to change.
Payment: Payment is accepted online.
Tuition assistance may be available, please inquire with the Junior Lifeguard Coordinator.
