Activities

We have a variety of activities to help you get a feel for what it takes to actually make a quilt. These activities are available in the Threads of the Past Activity Center on Wednesdays and the third Saturday of the month, which are Living History activity days, as well as during special events. Upon special request, these activities and more can be available for groups and organizations.

Memory game:
Can you put a star block back together from memory?

Contribute to making a quilt for the Sanitary Commission of 1863 and help sew a quilt for a Civil War soldier. Sew two blocks together and sign your name on your block. After it is hand quilted by the Historic Quilt Guild, it will be raffled on the 4th of July in Old Town San Diego State Historic Park. If you helped sew it during the year you will have a chance to win the finished quilt!  You need not be present to win and the quilt can be mailed to anyone residing in the United States. Tickets will also be available throughout the year.
