Historic Quilt Guild

Old Town Quilters’ Guild

Quilt Guild

We are looking for passionate volunteers willing to give their time to help keep this important craft alive.  We are especially looking for people with quilting and sewing experience.  We welcome people with all levels of interest and experience, from beginner to expert.

As part of the Historic Trades & Crafts Program, we do the following:

  • Demonstrate traditional methods of quilting.
  • Provide hands-on activities for visitors.
  • Tell stories of quilts and quilters of the 1800s.
  • Produce items to sell or use that support the interpretation and education programs at Old Town San Diego State Historic Park.

We meet every Wednesday afternoon, from 1 to 3 p.m. at “Threads of the Past,” which is located in Old Town San Diego State Historic Park, near the Plaza (and a candy store) on San Diego Avenue.  We also meet at Threads, along with the Fiber Arts guild, on the third Saturday of the month.  We are hoping to meet more often in the future.
