Images for Media/Press Use

The images below are being offered for use by media outlets only.  To request one or more of these images for use, contact interp@parks.ca.gov and provide the following information:

1. Identification Number(s) of Image(s)
2. Desired Size and Resolution of Image(s) OR Pixel Width of Image(s)
3. Requestor Information (media outlet's name, personal name, phone number, email address)
4. Brief Description of Use (e.g., with newpaper article, during news broadcast, etc.)

Within two business days, you will be sent the image(s) you have requested along with an email message indicating the terms of use and the appropriate credit line(s) to use with the image(s).

If you need an image for media use sooner than this turnaround time, you may use any of the images below (these images are, on average, 400 pixels wide and may be suitable for many uses).  If you use images from this site, they must be credited as "Copyright 2008 California State Parks."  By using these images, you are agreeing to the following terms of use:

Use Agreement - Terms of Use

For images posted on webpage http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=25662 or http://www.parks.ca.gov/angelisland/formedia.  (Images are hereinafter referred to as the "Material.")

 

This license granted hereunder shall not extend beyond the following use, in the following mediums: Use of the Material with news articles and for incorporation into a media outlet's online publication (at a resolution not to exceed 72 dpi and a maximum size not to exceed 400 x 320 pixels).

 

Upon completion of the Project, the User shall ensure that all electronic copies of the Material and Derivative Works are deleted from the User's company/organization hard drives and/or temporary electronic storage formats as well as those of any sub-contracted company with the sole exception of the copy incorporated into the Online Use. User shall not provide or allow access to the Material or Derivative Works by any third party unless specifically authorized herein. The User shall not alter electronic file name(s) for the Material.

 

Any additional use shall require written permission. This permission is non-transferable and non-sublicenseable, and the Material may not be sold. This is not an exclusive privilege to the user, and the Department reserves the right to make the Material available to others. One copy of any published work using the Material provided by the Department must be provided to the Department at no cost to the Department unless agreed otherwise in writing.

 

All Material reproduced must be credited as: Courtesy California State Parks.

 

IN NO EVENT SHALL THE DEPARTMENT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THIS AGREEMENT. THE DEPARTMENT EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ANY AND ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. PERMISSION TO USE THE MATERIAL IS GRANTED "AS IS."

 

User assumes all responsibility for investigating and avoiding any possible infringement of copyright laws or reproduction rights, and any and all other third party intellectual property rights, that may arise from the reproduction or publishing of the Material and/or derivative works. Further, User agrees to indemnify, protect, hold harmless, and defend the Department from and against any liability that might arise from any and all use of the Material by User, its licensees, successors or assigns.
