WHAT: “Asilomar Ramble” – walking tour of Asilomar Conference Grounds.
Take a tour with State Parks! Join a State Park staff person for an hour-long tour - "The Asilomar Ramble". This hour-long, park staff-led tour provides a wealth of knowledge about the "refuge by the sea", and you will walk away with a new perspective and a renewed appreciation of Asilomar's natural and cultural history. Our most popular tour, the "Ramble" is an overview of the beginnings of Asilomar, Julia Morgan Architecture, and Natural Forest and Dune Preserve information.
Easy walk over paths and roadways covering the "Historic Core" of the conference grounds and the Dunes Boardwalk. Tour is free of charge and lasts approximately 1 hour.
WHERE: Asilomar State Beach and Conference Grounds, 800 Asilomar Blvd. in Pacific Grove.
Meet at the State Parks desk in the Phoebe Apperson Hearst Social Hall (Registration Building).
WHEN: Currently offered Friday and Saturday mornings and afternoons through 2014:
Morning Tours: 9:30 a.m.
Afternoon Tours: 1:30 p.m.
