State Scientist Day 2004

As in past years, staff from the Natural Resources Division of California State Parks participated in State Scientist Day at the west side of Capitol Park in Sacramento on May 19, 2004.  Hundreds of 4th, 5th and 6th graders from schools around Northern California came to learn what scientists working for various State Agencies and Departments do.

At the California State Parks booth the school children got to play "Guess the California Wildlife" game, touch an elk antler, see how a "live trap" works, and observe a 50-year old desert tortoise.
