Interpreting to Diverse Audiences

This interagency interpretive training workshop is designed specifically for interpreters who face the challenge of interpreting natural and cultural resources to increasingly diverse audiences.  Participants will become better equipped to provide interpretation to individuals and groups comprised of diverse audiences and in turn better accomplish their agency missions.

The workshop purposes are to identify the elements of effective interpretation through classroom and field experiences, to improve participants' ability to communicate with diverse audiences, and to strengthen interagency connections and communication as a way of learning and improving our ability to accomplish our missions.

Department Participants: Job related training for State Park Rangers, Supervising State Park Rangers, Guide I's, Lifeguards, and Interpreter I's.
Non-Department Participants: Field-level interpreters.
Program Length: 36 hours
