All employees deserve to be paid accurately in a timely manner and have their benefits correctly processed, allowing them to focus all their attention on their work. The personnel training program is divided into three components delivered in workshop format, on a two-year cycle, at locations throughout the Department. A review of the role of control agencies and their current span of control is provided in each workshop. These interactive workshops provide practical exercises covering all skills.
Workshop #1 - Employee BenefitsTraining focuses on eligibility requirements and procedures to enroll in flex, health, dental, vision, disability, legal and life insurance benefit programs. Retirement and deferred compensation benefits are also reviewed.
Course Length: 16 hours
Workshop #2 - Attendance and PayrollTraining focuses on permanent and intermittent employee attendance document completion and processing leave balance tracking, alternate work schedules, and payroll information.
Course Length: 24 hours
Workshop #3 - Personnel TransactionsTraining focuses on document completion processing required in the employment process; hiring appointments, health questionnaires, salary adjustments, miscellaneous transactions and separations.
