Lighthouse Tower Tour
I'm the spirit of a 19th Century light-house Keeper. I was assigned to the Pigeon Point Light Station by the United States Light-house Establishment as the First Assistant Keeper. Now I return to the point from time to time to make sure the place continues to work smoothly as an aid to navigation. If you would like to come with me, I'll tell you how we ran the light station in my day as well as how they do it today. You should review and follow the Light-house Board's notice to visitors before we began.
This is a photograph of the tower taken shortly after I was assigned here, the view is looking from the south. Although the point still operates as an aid to navigation as it did in my day, quite a bit has changed.
