Park maintenance staff care for diverse ornamental and natural landscapes in park units throughout California. The Landscape Maintenance program provides technical training for maintenance staff assigned to the general care of state park landscape environments. Topics covered include: characteristics of plant growth, plant growth requirements, park landscape environments, natural resource maintenance, diagnosing plant problems, general plant care, irrigation systems, small engine maintenance, tools and equipment, and planning for landscape maintenance.

Department Participants: Job-related training for Groundskeepers, Park Maintenance Worker Is, Park Maintenance Assistants, Service Assistants - Maintenance, and Maintenance Service Occupational Trainees assigned landscape maintenance duties.
Non-Department Participants: Unskilled Maintenance personnel who are assigned landscape maintenance duties. Cost: $800 for California Resident, $900 for Out-of-State Resident. (Cost includes registration, meals and lodging.)
