Funds available for Block Grants: $156,812,000

Eligible Projects

  • Acquisition of park and recreation lands and facilities
  • Development/rehabilitation of park and recreation lands and facilities
  • Special Major Maintenance of park and recreation lands and facilities
  • Innovative Recreation Programs
    Note: Special Major Maintenance and/or Innovative Recreation Programs may not exceed 30% of grant funds

    Match Requirement: Applicant must provide an amount of non-state funds equal to 30% of project amount.

Eligible applicants may begin the application process for Block Grants by submitting a resolution from their governing body, which will start the fund encumbrance process. Grantees are also encouraged to begin preparing applications for their Block Grant projects. Eligible applicants should contact their Project Officer for assistance with the application process.

The Block Grant funds are allocated (MS WORD | ACROBAT PDF) to eligible cities, counties, and districts based on population and location within urbanized and heavily urbanized areas.
