Urban Recreational and Cultural Centers (URCC) Grant Program

The Urban Recreational and Cultural Centers (URCC), Museums, and Facilities for Wildlife or Environmental Education Program was a competitive grant program that funded the development or rehabilitation of real property consisting of urban recreational and cultural centers, museums, and facilities for wildlife education or environmental education.

To be eligible for funding an applicant's project must have been nominated by a member of the Leislature for study by the California Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) by June 30, 2001.  Applications for nominated projects must have been either received or postmarked by November 1, 2001.

The Department of Parks and Recreation submitted the prioritized list of nominated projects for the Urban Recreational and Cultural Centers (URCC), Museums, and Facilities for Wildlife Education or Environmental Education Program to the Legislature as required by Section 5096.340 (b) of the Public Resources Code.

This competitive grant program funded the development or rehabilitation of real property consisting of urban recreational and cultural centers, museums, and facilities for wildlife education or environmental education.

All funds have been awarded.
