Zoos and Aquarium Facilities Grants Funded Projects
There are two subprograms with different funding requirements and timelines in the Dr. Paul Chaffee Zoological Program: A. the Zoos and Aquarium Facilities Grant (ZAF), and B. the Wildlife Care Facilities Grant.
A. The Zoos and Aquarium Facilities Grant (ZAF)
Program Overview
- All funds have been allocated
- Application Deadline was April 1, 2002
- Funds available: Approximately $5,401,000 was available
- Eligible projects: Include the development, rehabilitation, and restoration of lands and facilities of AZA accredited zoos and aquariums.

B. The Wildlife Care Faclities Grant (WCF)
Program Overview
- All funds have been allocated
- Application Deadline was February 1, 2002
- Funds available: Approximately $385,000 was available
- Eligible projects: Include the development, rehabilitation, or restoration of zoo and wildlife care facilities operated by eligible applicants.
