School Group Train Ride

The School Group Train Ride Program is designed for all students K-12.

Classes meet at the Central Pacific Freight Depot for a 40 minute train ride following the tracks of the Museum's historic Sacramento Southern Railroad, along the Sacramento River's levees. Knowledgeable, on-board Docents explain to students about train travel during the 1920s.

School Group Size:

10 person minimum with a maximum of 45
Adult Supervision Requirement:
1-adult for every 10 students

Meet at the Sac Southern Depot in Old Sacramento
On Front Street between "J" and "K" Streets, Old Sacramento

City parking lot, under I-5, enter from I street under the freeway. City parking charges apply. Bus drop off in front of back of railroad museum.

Schedule and Fees:
Tuesday's only
February, March, April and October
Train leaves 11:00 am and 1:00 pm
$150 flat fee paid by cash or check at Sac southern Depot on day of visit.
