MONTEREY JUNIOR LIFEGUARDS
Welcome Junior Lifeguard Participants and Family Members. Summer 2017 is fast approaching and we are looking forward to another amazing summer in the water!!! We would like for you to have as much information as possible, so please navigate through our website to find out all the important information you need to know. Please email our Junior Lifeguard office at Monterey.JG@parks.ca.gov with any questions pertaining to the program. Registration for this summer will open on April 1, 2017 at 6:00 A.M. Please DO NOT wait to sign up - spots are limited and fill up quickly. Please look at our "Sign Up" page which has information about the process of sign ups and a link to the Active.com website.
This unique program gives local youth in Monterey County the opportunity to receive instruction and practice in ocean safety awareness skills, paddle boarding, body surfing, surfing, snorkeling, calisthenics, self rescue and more! We will also have field trips during each session of the program. Some of the fields trips include days at Point Lobos State Reserve, Lovers Point picnic area, Santa Cruz JG competition, and Asilomar State Beach. This program gives young men and women the opportunity to be in top physical condition as well as develop ocean awareness skills not only for their own benefit, but also for the long term maitnenance and preservation of the ocean environment.
WHO: Boys and Girls Ages: 9-15
WHERE: Monterey State Beach (Roberts parking Lot at the S.Beach at the end of Sand Dunes Drive)
WHEN: Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
