Mosquito Fire

Fully Closed:

Placer/El Dorado Counties
  • Auburn State Recreation Area: Due to the Mosquito Fire, all of Auburn State Recreation Area is now closed until further notice. Campers who have reservations will be refunded. The public is urged to plan ahead and visit CAL FIRE’s webpage: www.fire.ca.gov/incidents for the latest information.
El Dorado County
  • Folsom Lake State Recreation Area: Due to the Mosquito Fire, the Peninsula Campground and day-use area are now closed until further notice. Campers who have reservations will be refunded. The public is urged to plan ahead and visit CAL FIRE’s webpage: www.fire.ca.gov/incidents for the latest information.

Below you will find a list of state park units impacted by previous wildfires that remain fully or partially closed. The public is advised to avoid these public outdoor spaces at this time. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

  • Big Basin Redwoods SP - (Media Downloads)
    • The park remains partially closed. Portions of the Rancho Del Oso coastal unit are now open daily.

  • Caswell Memorial State Park: Campground and day use beach and picnic areas are opened. However, hiking trails within the park remain closed.
